It was a double dose of Calgary action this weekend for the Saskatchewan SWAT, as they faced off against the Mountaineers and Raiders in back-to-back games. Let’s break it down:

May 24 - SWAT vs Mounties Lacrosse

May 24 – Mountaineers 16, SWAT 6 (Stu Peppard Arena)

The Mounties set the tone early at home, piling up 16 goals and maintaining control from start to finish. Leading the charge was Dexter Hannigan (#19), who put on a show—burying five goals and adding a pair of assists. He was seemingly everywhere on the floor and rightfully earned First Standout of the Week.

The Mountaineers spread the offense around, with Callum Zarsky and Mason Rockley chipping in multi-point efforts, and Isaac Contreras getting in on the scoring action as well. The Mounties goaltenders, Chase Misek and Tommy St. Louis, split the duties and turned away a combined 42 shots.

The S.W.A.T. managed to strike six times, with Caleb Hensley (#9) notching a hat trick and Haakon Steen (#6) and Josh Weston (#12) adding singles, but it wasn’t enough to stem the Mounties’ offensive tide.

May 25 - Raiders vs SWAT Lacrosse - Goalie Tommy Wood

May 25 – Raiders 11, SWAT 1 (Max Bell Centre)

The Raiders wasted no time making a statement, steamrolling the SWAT with an 11–1 victory. The defensive unit was rock solid, and Tommy Wood (#40) stood tall in net, turning away a massive 34 of 35 shots. His performance earned him Second Standout of the Week and showed off some premier goaltending.

Offensively, the Raiders were firing on all cylinders. Cash Frijters (#11) continued his strong start to the season with a four-point night, and Wyatt Viste (#33) added a natural hat trick over the second and third periods. The Raiders tallied five goals in the opening frame alone and never looked back.

Saskatchewan’s bright spot came in the form of a second-period goal from Ryder Goodwin (#20), but the offense was otherwise shut down by the relentless Raiders defense.

Standouts of the Week

🥇 Dexter Hannigan (Mountaineers #19) – 5G, 2A in a dominant offensive performance

🥈 Tommy Wood (Raiders #40) – 34 saves on 35 shots, brick wall performance

🥉 Cash Frijters (Raiders #11) – 1G, 3A, key offensive spark for the home team
